The BUSH is a chassis and suspension component responsible for connecting, guiding, or damping suspension and steering components to maintain correct wheel geometry, absorb road inputs, and provide controlled articulation under dynamic load conditions. It connects and articulates structural elements of the suspension system and must maintain geometric accuracy under dynamic load conditions to ensure correct wheel alignment, steering response, and tyre wear.
Components in this category are manufactured from high-strength steel, forged aluminium, or engineering polymers as required by the OEM design. Material grade, wall thickness, and joint geometry are matched to OEM specification for direct bolt-on replacement. No drilling, cutting, or modification is required for standard fitment.
Verify the vehicle make, model, year, and axle position (front/rear, left/right) before ordering. Many suspension components are side-specific and are not interchangeable between left and right.
- Raise the vehicle safely on a lift or axle stands with the suspension at ride height. Never work under a vehicle supported only by a jack.
- Inspect all adjacent suspension components before removing the failed part. Identify any secondary wear that should be addressed in the same service visit to avoid reassembly and alignment costs.
- Mark or photograph all eccentric bolt, cam bolt, and adjuster positions before removal. This preserves the approximate wheel alignment and reduces the scope of post-installation alignment correction.
- Use appropriate press tools for bushings and pressed-in joints. Do not attempt to drive out or install pressed components with a hammer — this will damage the housing bore and the new component.
- Torque all fasteners to OEM specification with the suspension at ride height (not in the fully droop position). Rubber bushings must be loaded at ride height to avoid premature tearing.
- Perform a four-wheel alignment check after installation. Any replacement of suspension geometry components — arms, links, rods, knuckles — will alter wheel alignment and must be checked and corrected before the vehicle is returned to service.
