The Rear Door Outer Panel (Chery OEM 551000436AADYJ) is a direct OEM-equivalent replacement outer door skin for the Chery Tiggo 8 PRO (platform code T18 / T1A). The paired part for the opposite side is 551000437AADYJ. The door outer panel is the visible cold-pressed steel skin of the rear door that forms the exterior body surface — it is the component directly damaged in side-impact collisions, parking incidents, and door-against-door contact that deforms the visible surface without necessarily damaging the door’s structural frame. The part is supplied as a cold-plate steel outer skin ready for paint preparation; the door frame, latch mechanism, window regulator, glass, wiring harness, and weatherseals are separate components that transfer from the original door or are ordered separately.

The Chery Tiggo 8 PRO is based on the T18/T1A platform, a mid-size SUV produced from 2019 onward as the successor to the original Tiggo 8 (T18, 2018–2019). The Tiggo 8 PRO uses a five-door body configuration with front-hinged doors. The rear doors on the T1A platform are longer than those of the Tiggo 7 series and incorporate full door-mounted weatherseal systems, window glass that seals flush to the body at high speed, and inner structure adapted to the vehicle’s side-curtain airbag routing. The outer skin (551000436AADYJ) replicates all the body-line pressing features, door handle recess, door mirror sail cutout, and weatherseal lip geometry of the genuine Chery part.

Steel door outer panels are large, heavy pressed components. Sea freight in a wooden crate or strengthened carton with foam padding is standard for international wholesale shipments. Difficulty: Specialist body shop work. Door outer skin replacement requires panel bonding, spot welding, or both depending on the vehicle’s construction method. On the Tiggo 8 PRO, the outer skin is attached to the inner door frame via a hem flange around the door perimeter — the skin edge is folded over the inner frame lip and secured with structural adhesive at the hem. This type of construction requires panel shop equipment: a heat gun or induction heater to release the original skin’s hem adhesive, a hemming tool or roller to re-form the hem on the new skin, and structural panel adhesive applied to the Chery specification. This is not a home repair — it must be performed by a qualified body shop. Paint the new skin before hemming.

   Document the original door skin before removal. Photograph gap and flush alignment at the B-pillar, C-pillar, sill, and roof rail. These reference measurements are used to set up the new skin. Record the door aperture gap target: typically 3.5–5.0 mm uniform at all edges on the Tiggo 8 PRO.

   Release the hem flange of the original skin. Heat the hem edge progressively with an induction heater or heat gun to soften the adhesive. Use a thin panel separation blade to release the hem along the door perimeter. Work progressively — do not force the skin. Retain the inner door frame if it is undamaged.

   Prepare the new 551000436AADYJ skin for painting. Clean all surfaces with panel wipe solvent. Apply etch primer to all bare steel areas including the back of the panel, the inside of the door cavity area, and the hem fold margins. Paint to body colour on the outer face. Allow full cure before proceeding to hemming.

   Apply structural hem adhesive to the inner door frame flange and form the hem. Apply Chery-specified structural adhesive (or equivalent approved panel bond adhesive) to the inner frame lip. Position the new skin over the frame and form the hem using a hemming roller progressively from the corners — corners first, then straight sections. Allow adhesive to cure to the adhesive manufacturer’s specification before handling.

   Install the door, set alignment, and verify all functions. Hang the door on the hinges and set gap alignment to the reference measurements taken before removal. Adjust hinge shims as needed. Verify door closure, latch engagement, window glass operation, weatherseal compression, and all interior electrical functions (window switch, door unlock actuator, speaker) before final paint refinishing of the repair area.
