WHEEL SPEED SENSOR (ABS)

Wheel speed sensor (ABS) for Mazda, Ford, Volvo. Reads wheel rotation speed from the tone ring and feeds the signal to the ABS / ESP control unit. The same signal is used by traction and stability control and, on many vehicles, by the speedometer and hill-start assist. A worn sensor or a chafed cable puts the ABS into failure mode and the warning light stays on.
